The location where i work is going to make over 7million dollars this year. That is a lot. If you consider when I came back to work here about 5 years ago it was making around 4.5 million a year it is quite an impressive jump. Revenue has not increased for no reason, the industry I'm in is growing. I'm not going to tell you what or where but it is a entertainment industry I work for. And there has been a considerable amount in money put into this location to make it unique and modern.
Every year we get a copy of the budget, the budget tells us what the company plans to make and how much we are planned to spend as the cost of doing business.
The amount of money we plan to make is not a sure thing, it depends on many variables. Weather, the economy, cost of living all play into how well business is.
Since so much was spent on renovations, that money must be made back and then some in order to make us a successful location.
The people in the upper ranks of the company make the choice as to what those numbers will be. Of coarse they want to make the money spent on upgrading back as soon as possible so the 'target' numbers are high. We are nowhere near those "target" numbers. Since we are not near those numbers the heat is being put on. CUT SPENDING, CUT PAYROLL are being screamed at us in order to make more money. Well you may be thinking 'that makes sense' but there is one other thing. We are still above last year by a considerable amount. But since we are not hitting the dream number we are being pressured and kind made feel like we are failing. It is not anyones fault that the numbers are not being achieved it is simply a sign of the times and the lack of realistic expectations. I really would like to see some common sense applied to the situation. It seems like they have created the problem they have for themselves. I mean we are still making a nice profit, that's a lot better than some are doing so get off our backs please. I wonder if this kind of thinking doesn't have a big effect on business and workers and why it is so hard to get anyone to think rationally when it comes to dealing with things on a corporate level.

Dear god, Hope you got the letter, And i pray you can make it better down here. I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer, But all the people that you made in your image, See them starving on their feet, 'cause they don't get enough to eat…
